To say 2017 was a good vintage at Bodega Catena Zapata would be understatement with their top Malbec getting a perfect 100 point score (and price tag) and then a few months after their release, they are named the #1 Wine Brand in the entire world by Drinks International. They are understandably flying high in Mendoza!  

I was thrilled to be getting a call from these guys and though it’s a tad bit unconventional, a sub $10, 93-point half bottle gem from arguably the world’s best Malbec producer is an offer I was never going to pass up. This one is not too shabby for a Tuesday nighter. But like all wines we’ve ‘rescued’ from restaurant wine lists, this one won’t last long. Load up!
