Michter’s 10 Year Old Single Barrel Straight Rye Whiskey

Category

One of the more notably names in whiskey, everything that has Michter’s on the label is always first class. This one is one of the most limited production items, which continues to further the legacy and tradition of America’s first whiskey variety (rye) from America’s first whiskey company (Michter’s, originally known as Shenk’s). After a nearly three year hiatus, this one was re-released in 2014, and since then has been incredibly hard to track down.

It’s fantastic blend that mixes in both some heat and some spice. Cinnamon, dark chocolate, a hint of red pepper and charred sugar notes absolutely explode out of the bottle. I have just four of these bottles to go round.

The 10-year Single Barrel Rye is easily one of the most rare and limited bottlings. It comes in at a sneaky 46.4% but is so smooth and so pure, you never even feel it. Held back by the master distiller for three years, it was finally re-released in 2014 and has been hard to scoop up since then. It’s fantastic blend that mixes in both some heat and some spice. Cinnamon, dark chocolate, a hint of red pepper and charred sugar notes absolutely explode out of the bottle. I have just four of these bottles to go round.
