Banshee Chardonnay Sonoma Coast 2021

Categories , ,

I’ve continued to be impressed and, admittedly, a bit caught off guard by the Banshee wines each time. It feels to me like a winery that’s been around forever, but in reality it’s been less than 15 years. I think a lot of that is due to how popular their wines have become, and for good reason.

Banshee’s wines offer buyers some of the best values in California out of much-beloved Sonoma County. They don’t make strictly value wines–some of their single-vineyard stuff can get up into the $70-80/bottle range–but for values like today’s Chardonnay, they’re tough to beat!

The best part about all of this is if you blind taste Banshee’s Chard in any given random Sonoma Coast dozen, you would have no idea it’s a sub $20 Chardonnay. I guarantee you it would finish in the top three. It really is that good.

Original price was: $20.00.Current price is: $17.50.

That’s the beauty of Banshee. They overdeliver at a level that very few can compete with. Wine Spectator, America’s stingiest wine publication, found themselves as big fans of the wine, writing, “Fresh apple, Asian pear, and citrus flavors are vibrant at the core, with elegant details of sea salt minerality, lime zest, fresh ginger accent and a hint of spice and toasted green tea notes that linger.”
