Banshee Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County 2021

Categories ,

The Banshee Wines origin story is a pretty crazy one that came with a ton of risk but has worked out swimmingly. The founders actually borrowed money from their friends and family in 2009 to launch a brand that made just eight barrels of Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Somehow, now 15 years later, they’ve blown up into one of the most reputable California wine brands.

This is the third offer of the year for us and Banshee in Sonoma, and there’s a good reason for it too. The Banshee wines easily offer buyers some of the best values in California out of the beloved Sonoma County.

But don’t get confused- this isn’t a winery that’s out here making strictly value wines. They have a full lineup with some of their single vineyard bottlings released in the $70-80/bottle range. Those wines are highly rated and collector worthy for sure, but true values like today’s offer, are nearly impossible to top.

Original price was: $25.00.Current price is: $21.00.

92 Points, Wine Enthusiast
This smooth, mouth filling but not heavy wine is scented with black plums, black cherries and maple, followed by rich, ripe fruit flavors and a very polished texture. Light tannins add to an easy touch on the palate.

91 Points, James Suckling
Notes of ripe blackberries and plum skins with sweet licorice, rose petals and pine wood. Full-bodied and a little tight with firm tannins, yet succulent and fruit-forward at the same time. Spicy and lingering finish.

92 Points, Wine Enthusiast – 91 Points, James Suckling

They overdeliver at a level that very few can compete with. These are not thin, light, medium-bodied Cabernet that tastes watered down. In fact it’s the opposite. This is a lush, powerhouse that Wine Enthusiast called, “mouth filling but not heavy” and James Suckling echoed with his own, “full-bodied” description. – they’re lush with fruit-forward bright red fruits, a round middle but great acidity and balance that make them such a pleasure to sip.
