Carl Roy Stag’s Leap District Cabernet Blend 2018

Due to the unfortunate circumstances surrounding everyone’s restaurant including ours, a unique opportunity opened up in an AVA that has understandably always been off limits to us under the Carl Roy label. We get excellent Napa Valley Cab each year that gets bottled for $75 under a different name and gets to us for a fraction so we never complain. But Stags Leap District (Clos du Val, Cliff Lede, Odette, Pine Ridge) that mainly churns out Cabernets with $150+ price tags– that’s always been in another league. Until now.

All of the best steakhouses from California to New York City line up to get their hands on Carl Roy’s juice, a Cabernet blend that explodes from the jump and dazzles with laser-like precision and focus. Carl Roy Stags Leap District wines go exclusively to restaurants– the 180 cases he makes every year get palleted off and sent out almost as soon as they’re bottled. But this year, things are different and that means we got a call we never expected. Always a silver lining.

Original price was: $75.00.Current price is: $30.00.

The 2018 Carl Roy Stag’s Leap District is a wine that was never supposed to be poured anywhere but the finest steakhouses from SF to NYC. But that all changed in March. Even so, when I got the call asking if I would like this Stag’s Leap Cuvée from Carl Roy, I thought it was a mistake. From the most storied AVA of Napa and somehow just $30/btl? Hurry because this one won’t last!
