Last November, we snuck out 20 cases of Wine Spectator’s highest rated Chianti Classico in the history of the publication – Castello di Volpaia’s 2016 – on a sleepy afternoon.

But Volpaia’s spot amongst the elite is secured with far more than just a Chianti Classico, rather a full portfolio of different varietals priced from low to high. One wine you should definitely not sleep on from the winery, is their play at the ultimate Super Tuscan bargain of the year. A predominantly Sangiovese blend that also features Cabernet, the “Citto” is the winery’s play at Bordeaux’s second wines. Showcasing the youthful vibrancy, this wine was made in 100% stainless steal, making it the perfect wine to drink it while it’s fresh, silky and oh so juicy.
