Champagne Taittinger Brut La Francaise NV

Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate described the Taittinger Brut la Francaise as “perfectly balanced with a pinpoint mousse and a refreshing, penetrating finish” which is a pretty apt description of this beautiful Champagne. The iconic Brut La Francaise cuvée is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier grapes, selected from the finest vineyards in the Champagne region. With its pale golden hue and persistent fine bubbles, it delights the senses with aromas of ripe fruits, citrus, and freshly baked brioche. On the palate, it reveals a harmonious balance of crisp acidity and creamy texture, culminating in a long, luxurious finish.

Bright and lively, this is one of my favorite non vintage Bruts. Crisp and balanced, with smooth, exuberant, Chardonnay-driven style; racy, elegant, and totally charming; long and memorable.

Tattinger is one of Champagne’s largest houses as well as ranking among the region’s largest landholders, with nearly 300 hectares of vineyards supplying some 40% of their requirements. The house stands as a beacon of excellence in the world of champagne, renowned for its exquisite taste and unparalleled quality. Crafted with precision and passion, each bottle is a testament to centuries of winemaking expertise.

From the crisp, refreshing notes to the delicate bubbles that dance on the palate, every sip of Taittinger is an indulgent experience. The house’s commitment to perfection is evident in every aspect of what they do at the winery, from the careful selection of grapes to the meticulous aging in cool cellars beneath the rolling hills of Champagne. But what truly sets Champagne Taittinger apart is their rich history, steeped in tradition and innovation.

Founded in 1734 by Jacques Fourneaux, a wine merchant, the Taittinger family took over the reins in the early 20th century, infusing the brand with their vision and passion. Throughout the years, Taittinger has weathered wars and revolutions, yet it has emerged stronger than ever, its legacy enduring through generations. Today, as one of the last great champagne houses still owned and operated by the founding family, Taittinger continues to uphold its heritage while embracing modern techniques, ensuring that each bottle is a testament to its storied past and a promise of excellence for the future.
