Cooper Mountain is a great little winery that rides the outskirts of the North Willamette Valley. The wines are all organic and biodynamically made and they have their own little ecosystem near Beaverton that is different from some of the rest of the valley.
They’ve been one of the better value wineries in Oregon for years – around since the early 1980s but really hitting their stride in their early 1990s after some expansion. They have a few vineyard sites on the western slopes of Cooper Mountain that not only offer diverse soil types, but it well-protected from weather and often a very cool spot, allowing the wine team to let the grapes take their time to find full maturity before being picked.
