95 Points, Decanter
From the Davies family, proprietors of Schramsberg Vineyards and the J. Davies Estate atop Napa’s Diamond Mountain. 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Malbec, 6% Petit Verdot, and 2% Merlot is aged 20 months in 71% new French oak. Sean Thompson has made the wines since 2006. This Napa Valley appellation Cabernet blend is a dynamite wine that seamlessly integrates silky tannins and ripe, pure, blue, and black-toned fruits. The fruit comes in silky-satiny waves, finishing with sweet cedar and graphite with perfumed violets.

93 Points, Vinous
Packed with blue/black fruit, chocolate, spice and licorice. There’s gorgeous depth, texture and complexity here. Readers will find plenty to like in this exuberant, dense Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

93 Points, James Suckling
“Cherries, baked plums, roasted meat and warm spices on the nose follow through to a full body with plush tannins. Polished, well-balanced and delicious, with a creamy core of red berries at the center and a vivid finish with length.”

The Davies family are also the proprietors of Schramsberg Vineyards and the J. Davies Estate in Napa Valley. They have built a stealthy reputation for quality in the Valley for decades through these two brands, and Davies Vineyards, now in at their 10-year mark, is furthering that tradition of excellence.

Expanding on knowledge gained through the production of the J. Davies Cabernet Sauvignon wines from the Diamond Mountain estate, this bottling represents an outstanding range of sites across the Napa Valley. Each vineyard is intentionally farmed to produce low yields, resulting in vivid, concentrated flavors. The finished wine exhibits vibrant fruitful flavors, a rich texture, and firm tannic structure, allowing for enjoyment now as well as extended aging.
