Eagle Rare Nicholas Private Single Barrel 10-Year Bourbon Whiskey #2

These days just the regular bottling of Eagle Rare is selling for North of $100. And that’s if you can find it. It’s still a ridiculously highly allocated item. My offer price today is insanely good. As you know, all of my private barrels are not in the same hemisphere as the regular bottlings & this one is no different. That’s probably why they continue to sell out so fast.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Toasted oak, maple syrup, burnt orange peel, honey, toffee, buttered popcorn
Palate: Rich and full-bodied, with notes of buttered popcorn, honey, tobacco, vanilla & roasted pineapple
Finish: Long and rich, with notes of oak, vanilla, toffee, butterscotch, and tannins

This offer is about as rare as an Eagles Super Bowl win. It feels like it comes along about once every 50 years.
As one of the largest private barrel buyers in the country, I turn down far more barrels than I accept. But Buffalo Trace Distillery is different – in four years, they’ve only released two barrels to me. Two!

That’s why this is special. While Sazerac always takes care of me with Pappy allocations for the bar, this year they went above and beyond – a private barrel of 10-year Eagle Rare for my Bourbon Buyer’s Club. Sure, it took seven months to arrive after I selected it this summer, but it’s worth the wait.

Regular Eagle Rare bottles (if you can find them) sell for north of $100 these days. To ensure this doesn’t vanish for another 24 months, I’m releasing just 100 bottles to the club, keeping the rest for the restaurant (and myself).
