High West A Midwinter Night’s Dram Act 12 Scene 5

Category

Guess which Bourbon Buyers Club is in great standing with High West? I scored us the largest allocation in all of New Jersey – 24 bottles from the cult Whiskey series from High West. These things always disappear in a hurry and the price quickly doubles if not triples from its initial release price! This is their 2024 release that is arriving late next week and the early word is that it’s the spiciest of the MNDA series in a few years. As of now it’s only available in a few select places in Utah. It brings together a marriage of rye whiskeys finished in Port barrels. This is a formula that now has a devout following – folks flock for the caramel notes mixed with spicy chocolate and cinnamon, French vanilla and a plenty of dried red and black fruits. Grab a bottle or two before this disappears in a flash!

Original price was: $339.00.Current price is: $199.00.

If you’ve heard of High West, it’s probably due to their cult limited release series the ‘Midwinter Night’s Dram’ releases. Inspired by the playwright William Shakespeare, the MND’s come in Acts and Scenes and tell different tales through blending that people line up from all over the world to secure. Having tasted more than a few of these, they never disappoint.

This is a super limited whiskey release that blends a few different rye whiskeys together and finishes them in ex-Port barrels. The rye forms a beautiful base of vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon while the port barrels provide notes of plum, dried fruit, and spice. In fact, from what I’ve been hearing, this has the coveted spicier notes that fans love about this release that some feel have been missing of late. This one once checks in at 98.6 Proof (49.3% alc.). It’s a showstopper, 100%.

This coveted whiskey is derived from a blend of sourced distillate from MGP – containing an estimated 95% rye and 5% malted barley – and High West Distillery’s proprietary mash of 80% rye and 20% malted barley. The exact ratio of each distillate is a guarded secret, only adding to the allure of this sumptuous dram.
