Jean Josselin Champagne “Cuvee des Jean” Extra Brut

This is a fantastic Grower Champagne made from 100% Pinot Noir which actually comes from one of the furthest southern points in all of Champagne which is actually closer to the heart of Burgundy. There are no brioche characteristics as some expect with Champagne, instead this gives off a lively dry, yet fruity mouthfeel that features wild strawberry, raspberry and Red delicious apple with a hint of white peach citrus. This would be perfect with an apertif or as the star of a seafood dinner. Not to be missed for bubbly lovers.

“A well-cut Champagne, with a light, lacy mousse, delivering delicate notes of ripe raspberry, pink grapefruit granita, verbena and salted almond defined by racy acidity. Minerally finish.” (11/15/2023)

The Josselin family has been players in the wine industry for several generations dating back to the mid-1800’s. The family is lucky enough to own exceptional land in the Seine Valley, situated to the south of Côtes de Bar and in the extreme south of the Champagne region in a village called Gyé-sur-Seine. This is closest to Burgundy of any grower Champagne, and the unmatched Pinot Noir that goes into their wines is a testament to their unique soil and growing conditions.

This is a fantastic Blancs de Noir (100% Pinot Noir) made from a vineyard with the highest level of certification for sustainable agricultural.
