There’s a lot to love with this vibrant and crystalline profile. The first sip hits with refreshing notes of green apple, lemon zest, and ripe pear, underscored by a delicate hint of white flowers. It’s a youthful Chablis with lively acidity that dances on the palate, balanced by a subtle minerality reminiscent of wet stones. With its medium-bodied texture and a lingering finish, this wine showcases the quintessential characteristics of Chablis terroir, making it an exquisite expression of the 2022 vintage.
Jean Marc Brocard Sainte Claire Chablis 2022 (Case Price)
Jean-Marc Brocard is a pretty amazing study of perseverance. Back in the late 1970s, he planted just one hectare in Chablis, hoping to earn his chops making meaningful, ageworthy Chardonnay. Ever the perfectionist, he even chose his cellars in the center of his vineyard to give his grapes constant attention. That attention, along with the best quality Chablis soil, produces an electric, mineral style version of Chablis that is both elegant and expressive.
Needless to say, all of his hard work and vision paid off. The Brocard estate now comprises 80 hectares of vines, 65 of which are still adjacent to the winery’s cellars.
Every bottle from Jean-Marc Brocard is like a love letter to Chablis. From their entry-level stuff to their fancy Grand Crus, you can taste the terroir in every drop. It’s all about that minerality and that crisp acidity that just screams Chablis. And the attention to detail in their winemaking? It’s next level. That’s why, when I crack open a bottle from Jean-Marc Brocard, I know I’m in for a treat. They’re not just making wine, they’re crafting an experience.
