La Spinetta Il Rose di Casanova 2024

Surprisingly, this gem comes from Tuscany, not typically known for fantastic Rosés. It’s crafted from Sangiovese and Prugnolo Gentile (a more tannic Sangiovese sibling), creating a vibrant and crisp profile.

The vineyard and winegrowing process are what truly set this Rose apart. You have the perfect terroir for Rose, with sandy ocean soil, 20+ year-old vines at 300 meters elevation, and ideal Southeast sun exposure. Then you have 100% organic practices around the estate.

Then there’s the hand harvesting and the Sangiovese grapes that are left on the skins for an hour to give it that brilliant dark pink hue and abundance of personality. Last year, this came equipped with some big scores. This just came out this week, but I can already tell it will be joining its predecessor in the 91+ point club!
