Stolpman Vineyards La Cuadrilla 2022

93 Points, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
Standing up to a rack of BBQ ribs is no easy task, but a big yet easy drinking red wine courtesy of superstar winemaker Pete Stolpman always does the trick. The newly released 2022 La Cuadrilla is a Châteauneuf-styled southern Rhone blend that is predominantly Syrah and absolutely delicious. Fresh, vibrant red fruits that taste silky, with great structure and length, this is always one of my favorites. The profits from the wine go directly to the crew who pick the grapes and make it all happen.

93 Points, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

The 2022 La Cuadrilla is a blend of Syrah and Grenache with a smaller portion of Mourvèdre. It offers slowly unfurling scents of wild berries, tar, turned earth and wildflowers. The medium-bodied palate is bright and silky, with spicy, earthy fruit and a long, perfumed finish.

92 Points, Wine Enthusiast

Directed by and benefiting the estate’s farm crews each vintage, this blend of 60% Syrah, 30% Grenache, 5% Mourvèdre and 5% Sangiovese offers aromas of blackberry sorbet, scarlet red roses and woodspice on the nose. The palate is focused on a core of jammy berries that are balanced by chalky tannins and an acidic bite
