Anne Sery’s wines have already been the by-the-glass pour at Chinese Tuxedo, Lure Fishbar, the Mandarin Oriental, Chef Carmellini’s The Dutch, Little Park, and the Westlight among others… And that’s before Super-Somm Rajat Parr tapped Anne to make an exclusive Pinot Noir just for Daniel Boulud’s restaurants.
She recently decided to expand on her Walla Walla Cabernet project from the 2018 vintage, and go ALL IN on it moving forward in Washington. Heck, she even found herself in the hottest AVA in America in Horse Heaven Hills, where she scored a deal with two of the absolute best producers in the state for Cabernet fruit.
Let me tell you — the Denis Dubourdieu protege with her University of Bordeaux churned out a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon for her own brand, Trousse Chemise. Armed with fruit from two ‘Top 100 Wineries’ from Wine & Spirits, this one checks fairly robust while managing to remain extremely refined and structured. She does this all without spending any time in oak, so it comes out with long smooth tannins and a full-bodied supple mouthfeel.
Deep garnet-purple colored, it leaps from the glass with odors of black raspberry, violets, and creme liquor. The mouth gives a generous amount of juicy black fruit at the core with hints of spice and bay leaves and a smooth, savory finish.
