Whistle Pig The Boss Hog IX: Siren’s Song

Category

A major thing that separates Whistle Pig from the others, is their Boss Hog bottlings. Not a given as an annual occurrence, Dave always said that the only way he would do a ‘Boss Hog’ bottling at Whistle Pig was if his “five promises” were kept. Those promises were as follows:

  1. Single Barrel
  2. Bottled at Barrel Proof
  3. Powerfully Complex
  4. Distinctly Unique from Anything They had Previously Done
  5. Extraordinary Quality. Better than Anything Else They Made.

With their ninth installment, Whistle Pig’s Boss Hog keeps all five of their ‘Boss Hog’ promises and then some. It’s a super unique bottling as always – a Straight Rye Whiskey with two world’s first finishes. It was finished in barrels seasoned with Greek fig nectar and scratch tentura, a Greek style liqueur. It’s a single barrel bottled at proof between 102-107. For another nice touch, The Boss Hog IX features 9 unique designs, in the likeness of the 9 Muses, randomly distributed on bottles across the country.

I’ve only seen a handful of retailers out there with this. The cheapest of them is offering it for $1300/bottle! Let’s just say this is a few hundred less than that. Something special at an unbeatable price exclusively for the Bourbon Buyers text list.

Original price was: $1,300.00.Current price is: $795.00.
