Whistle Pig The Boss Hog XI: The Juggernaut

*Extremely Limited Release: Not Eligible For Further Discount*

Whistle Pig spared no expense on travel or sourcing for the 11th iteration of their international smash hit, ‘The Boss Hog’. This year, the WhistlePig whiskey makers actually went to Rajasthan, India in search of precious spices to forge the world’s first Thandai barrel-aged Rye. To do something this special makes me think this one is going to go nuts on the secondary market like some of their other releases. Each bottle is actually its own single barrel release, making it a unique and unparalleled expression. It’s first aged in new American oak and then finished in Thandai barrels—crafted with exotic spices sourced from Khari Baoli in India, the largest spice market in Asia. There is absolutely nothing like it out there from anyone.

Original price was: $899.00.Current price is: $775.00.

A major thing that separates WhistlePig from the others, is their Boss Hog bottlings. Not a given as an annual occurrence, Dave always said that the only way he would do a ‘Boss Hog’ bottling at WhistlePig was if his “five promises” were kept. The five promises were:

  1. Single Barrel
  2. Bottled at Proof
  3. Powerfully Complex
  4. Distinctly Unique From Anything We’ve Done Before
  5. Stupendous in Quality

Last year, they actually put down 10 requirements they called their 10 commandments. The last one was that the ‘Whiskey knows no bounds’. I’m sure that was true of last year’s release too but that seems like it’s a rule that was made for this incredible globe trotting release.  Knowing no bounds is traveling to the world’s largest spice market in India to secure the ingredients for this extraordinary first of its kind bottling.
